JAZZ

Jazz dance has many different styles including; hip-hop, lyrical jazz, funk/street jazz, classical jazz and theater jazz. These and other popular styles of jazz can be seen in music videos, variety shows and musicals. Jazz dance is most typically performed to various types of pop music, as opposed to the classical music more generally associated with ballet.

Jazz Curriculum

Our jazz curriculum incorporates many of the most popular styles of jazz dance including; hip-hop, classical jazz, funk/street jazz, lyrical jazz, theater jazz and drill team jazz. Jazz dance is very trendy, styles will come and go. Therefore, at ABS we place an emphasis on jazz technique. This trains the body to be an instrument for dance providing the fundamentals for all styles of jazz.
